Data Module

 

The very basic purpose of Data module is to enable you to efficiently utilize the software for analyzing the scrips that are of your interest. You can form a user-defined group containing the scrips of various exchanges combined in a single group using this module.

You can create your own portfolios with complete details of all the transactions you have done on a daily basis.

Not just that you can get a report of all the transactions you have done & the profit or loss report.

 Q.1 How do I make a group consisting of the scrips I want?

Ans:

Open ‘Shortcut to DT’ & click on Groups menu

 

Select Group Master. A window will open up with the list of categories.

 

Select User-Defined & click on Add.

 

A new window will open up, in this window give some name & code for your group.

 

Then click on Accept & Press Esc key from keyboard.

 

Now Click on Groups & select Group Members & select the category as User-Defined

 

Name of the group you have created will appear in a list.

 

Click on this name & select Add.

 

Now go on adding the scrips you want in your group by simply typing in the exchange name & the scrip name you want to add.

 

After you finish adding each scrip click on Add.

 

Once you finish adding all the scrips press Esc from the keyboard.

Q.2 How to view my group in the charts?

Ans:

Go to the chart module & click on Charting.

 

Select the option Select Group.

 

Select User-Defined out of this category & select your group name out of the list displayed.

Q.3 How can I create my portfolio?

Ans:

Click on Trades menu & select New Accounts, you will get a message saying “This File has no record. Do you wish to add?” Click on ‘Yes’.

 

You can assign a group code & name to this portofolio & click on Add.

 

A list will appear with your portfolio code now press ‘Esc’ key from the keyboard.

Q.4 How do I add my trades in this portfolio?

Ans:

Click on Trades menu & select Enter Trades. This will show the list of all the accounts present in your system.

 

Click on the name of the account in which you want to add the trades & select Add.

 

For e.g. you bought 100 shares of Satyam computers in BSE at a rate of Rs 407 on 11thOct

Date:    11/10/06                                                          Trade No: 1

 

Exchange: B                                                                 Name: BSE

 

Scrip Code: 500376(or scrip name can be given)          Name: Satyam Comp

After filling these details click on Add & continue adding trades in similar way. Once this is done press ‘Esc’ from keyboard.

Q.5 How do I view the trades I’ve done?

Ans:

Go to Trades & select List Trades.

 

Now enter the date between which you want to see the trades & click on Ok.

 

This will give you a report of the transactions done by you.

Q.6 How do I get the list of all the trades of a specific scrip?

Ans:

Go to Data menu & select Quotation list.

 

A window named Select Scrip will open in front of you.

 

You have to put either the scrip name or the code & the exchange name in this window. Click on Ok.

 

This will display of the report of open, high, low, close & volume of the scrips since the time it was listed in that particular exchange.

 

You can print or save this report in various formats as per your requirement.
